We collect this directly from you, automatically through the Services (including cookies), and from our service providers and partners.

How we use your data, and our lawful basis

  • To provide the Services — processing and fulfilling your orders, managing your account, arranging delivery, handling returns and providing technical support. Lawful basis: performance of our contract with you.

  • Legal reasons — to comply with applicable law or valid legal process, and to enforce our terms. Lawful basis: legal obligation and legitimate interests.

Who we share it with

We share personal data only as needed to run the business, with:

  • Shopify — our e-commerce platform (see "Relationship with Shopify" below).
  • Our payment provider — Shopify Payments.
  • Delivery partners — our courier, delivery and fulfilment partners, to pick, pack and deliver your order on our behalf.
  • Google — analytics and advertising (Google Analytics, Google Ads/Merchant Center), where you have consented.
  • Meta and TikTok — advertising and analytics, where you have consented, once these are connected.
  • Professional advisers — e.g. our accountants, for financial and tax administration.
  • Authorities or advisers, and in a business transaction — where required by law, to enforce our terms, or in connection with a merger, acquisition or insolvency.

We do not sell your personal data.

Relationship with Shopify

The Services are hosted by Shopify, which collects and processes personal data about your access to and use of the Services in order to provide and improve them. Information you submit is transmitted to and shared with Shopify and its sub-processors, who may be located in countries other than where you live. To provide certain enhanced features, Shopify may use personal data about your interactions with our store, other merchants and Shopify. In those cases Shopify acts as an independent controller and is responsible for that processing, including for handling your rights requests in respect of it. See the Shopify Consumer Privacy Policy at privacy.shopify.com.

Cookies

We use cookies that are strictly necessary for the site to work, and — with your consent — analytics and advertising cookies (including Google Analytics, Google Ads, Meta and TikTok). You can accept, reject or change your choices at any time through our cookie banner. Rejecting non-essential cookies won't stop you buying from us.

International transfers

Some providers (e.g. Shopify, Google, Meta, TikTok) are located outside the EEA/UK, including in the United States. Where we transfer personal data internationally, we rely on an adequacy decision or on appropriate safeguards — the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, and the UK International Data Transfer Addendum for Northern Ireland customers.

How long we keep it

We keep order and financial records for as long as required by tax and company law — generally six years. Account and marketing data is kept until you close your account or withdraw consent, after which it is deleted or anonymised, subject to any legal retention requirements.

Third-party links

The Services may link to sites operated by third parties. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those sites; please review their own policies.

Children's data

The Services are not intended for children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children under the age of majority in your jurisdiction. If you believe a child has provided us with their data, contact us and we will delete it.

Security

No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, and information sent to us may not be secure in transit. Please don't send sensitive information through unsecured channels. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials safe.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you have rights to access, correct, erase, restrict or object to our processing of your personal data, to data portability, and to withdraw consent to marketing at any time (use the unsubscribe link in any email, or contact us). We won't discriminate against you for exercising these rights, and we may need to verify your identity first. To exercise any right, email privacy@ardeva.ie.

Complaints

Please contact us first at privacy@ardeva.ie — we'd like the chance to put things right. You also have the right to complain to your supervisory authority:

  • Republic of Ireland: Data Protection Commission — dataprotection.ie
  • Northern Ireland / UK: Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) — ico.org.uk

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy for operational, legal or regulatory reasons, including as we connect additional analytics or advertising tools. We'll post the revised version here and update the "Last updated" date.
