Questions
Frequently asked questions
How do I know I have leatherjackets?
Yellow or brown patches that spread in autumn and spring, and crows or starlings pecking at the lawn. Water a patch, cover it overnight with black plastic and lift it in the morning: grey-brown legless grubs will be on the surface.
How much do I need for my lawn?
Use 0.5 million per m². Measure your lawn and use the lawn calculator below, which works out the cheapest combination of packs.
Can I treat in spring?
Autumn is best because the grubs are small. If you missed it, a spring treatment in April or May once the soil is above 12°C can still reduce the damage.
When will my order arrive?
Order by 10:00 on Wednesday and it is produced fresh and delivered by tracked courier the following Wednesday or Thursday. Days can change around bank holidays in Ireland and Germany. See ordering and delivery.
How should I store it?
Put the pack in the fridge (2–8°C) as soon as it arrives and use it before the date on the pack. Do not freeze it.
Is it safe for children, pets and the environment?
Yes. The nematodes target insect pests in the soil and are safe to use around children, pets and wildlife.
Does it leave any residue?
Nematodes are living organisms, not chemicals, so there are no chemical residues on your lawn, plants, fruit or vegetables.
